Adam H.H. Altman, M.D., is a comprehensive ophthalmologist at Valley Eye Institute, serving patients in Sidney and Troy, OH. He specializes in cataract surgery (both phacoemulsification and MSICS), Minimally Invasive Glaucoma Surgery, ICLs, LASIK, PRK, SMILE, refractive lens exchange, Corneal Cross-Linking, pterygium excision, Mullerectomy for ptosis, blepharoplasty, ectropion/entropion repair, brow ptosis repair, epiblepharon correction, advanced technology IOLs, and neuromodulators (BOTOX) among others.
Dr. Altman separated from the Air Force after 9 years of service and numerous accolades. During his time in the Air Force, he served as the Chief of Ophthalmology at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base and Chief of Aerospace Medicine at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam. He has presented his research at national and international conferences and has published numerous peer-reviewed articles in ophthalmology. Current interests of Dr. Altman’s include Telemedicine/Tele-ophthalmology, quality improvement and standardization, and epithelial mapping.
Dr. Altman is an accomplished surgeon with expertise in complex cataracts, advanced technology IOLs, and refractive surgery. During his time with the Air Force and LCA Vision, he has performed nearly 5,000 refractive procedures with a 98% success rate of achieving 20/20 or better uncorrected vision for his patients. In his free time, Dr. Altman enjoys traveling with his wife and two daughters, fitness, golfing, and dabbling in philosophy.
