Jeffrey M. Ward, O.D., is the Optometric Director of Clinical Services at Valley Eye Institute, serving patients in western Ohio. He specializes in comprehensive eye care, diabetic eye care, dry eye, and glaucoma.
Dr. Ward grew up in rural West Central Ohio where he enjoyed playing sports. His athletic endeavors gave him an appreciation for hard work and working with others for a common goal, which provided the perfect transition into the medical field. He earned his undergraduate degree from Otterbein College and his Doctor of Optometry degree from The Ohio State University. He then became the first optometrist to be residency-trained in ocular disease at Cincinnati Eye Institute.
Dr. Ward founded the Valley Dry Eye Disease Center in 2016. This was the first clinic to be solely dedicated to the management of dry eye disease in West Central Ohio.
Outside of Valley Eye Institute, Dr. Ward enjoys spending time with his family, staying physically fit, and fishing. He also enjoys medical missionary work and has been to Haiti several times. He helped establish a medical/surgical eye clinic at a Catholic mission in Kobonal, Haiti.
